Consultant dermatologist at The Foscote Hospital, Dr Jonathan Bowling, provides diagnosis and treatments for all common skin (dermatological) conditions including eczema, psoriasis, acne, rashes and skin infections such as impetigo. He has a particular interest in screening of suspicious moles and the early diagnosis and treatment of melanoma.
During his dermatology clinics, Dr Bowling often uses a dermatoscope, a handheld device which combines strong magnification and lighting to enable him to get the best possible view of your skin complaint. Dermoscopy can see details under the skin’s surface which are not normally visible to the naked eye. It is very helpful for the diagnosis of many types of skin condition but is particularly useful in the diagnosis of skin cancer and melanoma.
