Dr Rajat Chowdhury is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust.
His main clinical interests are the diagnosis and image-guided treatment of sports injuries, musculoskeletal conditions including orthopaedic and rheumatological disorders, and trauma.
Dr Chowdhury provides Advanced interventional procedures including shoulder hydro dilatation, barbotage, dry needling, autologous blood injection, u/s guided percutaneous trigger finger release, Achilles tendon stripping
He guides injections into all joints, subacromial subdeltoid bursa, trochanteric bursa, Mortons neuroma, plantar fasciitis, hands and feet.
Dr Chowdhury read medicine at Oxford University and successfully completed basic surgical training attaining MRCS qualification on the St Mary’s Hospital, London (Imperial College) Surgical Training Programme.
He was then selected on to the Southampton Clinical Radiology Training Programme and successfully attained FRCR qualification before completing a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust with advanced fellowship training at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford.
He was subsequently appointed to a Consultant post in Oxford in 2013 and is a member of the European and British Skeletal Radiology Societies.
